Healthcare Specialist students are required to obtain their CNA Certification, Medication Technician and Basic Phlebotomy Certificates of completion to excel in this program. Students will learn the basics of being a Nursing Assistant and are also prepared to administer medications in state approved teaching hospitals, disability homes, prisons, and assisted living facilities. Students also gain the knowledge and skill set to safely perform venous & capillary blood draws. The topics included in the program of study are patient care, safety, professional responsibilities, infection control, phlebotomy, and medication administration and monitoring. A student must be 17 years of age prior to enrollment and must have completed at least the 8th grade course of study and be able to provide an official transcript confirming the last year of completion. A high school diploma/GED is preferred.

The use of state-of-the-art simulators and curriculum allows the individual to understand the capabilities and limitations of each piece of equipment without risk of damaging actual pieces of machinery as well as eliminating fuel consumption and reducing maintenance costs of actual heavy equipment. Additionally, the use of simulators allows actual equipment to stay working on the job site while individuals are training. |
