Program Description |
Prerequisites |
Instructor Qualifications |
Equipment Description |
This program focuses on the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) process. In two, 9-week classes you will learn how to fillet and groove weld flat plate in all positions as well as pipe weld in the 6G position. The TIG Welder Certificate is a stand alone certificate, but should be taken after the Stick or MIG/Flux Cored certificates. To ensure the best training outcomes, experienced welders seeking to upskill with TIG training alone should meet with a welding instructor prior to enrolling in the program to determine skill level. Students are required to purchase approximately $400-500 worth of welding gear and small hand tools.
Courses taken in this program may be applied toward academic program courses. This will be done on a case-by-case basis.
