The CDL-A program is offered in in a weekday or weekend format. The weekday option meets Monday through Thursday, from 7 am-5:30 pm for four weeks and the weekend option meets Saturday and Sunday, 7 am-5:30 pm for eight weeks. Graduates will be prepared to test for a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Students are given the opportunity to take the CDL driving test at their local DMV office in the same vehicle they used to complete their training.
To be accepted into the program, students are required to obtain and submit a South Carolina CDL Permit, a DOT physical, and a DOT drug screen before class starts. A 10-year driving record is obtained from the SCDMV during the application process as well. All paperwork must be completed and submitted before the student can be scheduled for a class. The program has been inspected, approved, and licensed by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles. All instructors meet the department’s standards and are certified by the DMV. MTC has partnered with Ancora Education to provide the CDL Training Certificate and all registration for the program takes place with Ancora Education. |

The purpose of this program is to produce safe, competent truck drivers. After completion, graduates of the program will be eligible for employment as entry-level, and will require a CDL and additional supervised driving hours before being able to safely operate tractor-trailers as solo drivers. The Comprehensive Welder Program is the culmination of the individual Stick, MIG/Flux Cored, and TIG Welding certificates and prepares the individual to work for a wide range of companies in the manufacturing and construction fields. This program can be completed in one year when taking a one, three-hour class every nine weeks. There is now an option of a morning, afternoon, and evening track to allow students to have the flexibility for a better balance between work, family, and training. If you have the ability to take more than one class in a day, the full program can be completed in less than a year. Students are required to purchase approximately $600-700 worth of welding gear and small hand tools. Courses taken in this program may be applied toward academic program courses. This will be done on a case-by-case basis. |

The ITF+ certification is for individuals considering a change in career to IT. It is the first computer IT fundamentals training to start your career in IT. In this on-campus program, you’ll gain all the skills you need to work as a CNC operator at one of the many facilities that rely on CNC Mill and Lathe work for production. Earn your certificate in as little as eight months, then get right to work.
What does a CNC operator do? When manufacturing is automated, machine shop tools such as lathes and mills need to be programmed to create parts to the right specifications. That’s where CNC operators and programmers come in. Anything from a part for a kitchen appliance to the engine block for your car was created by a machinist or a CNC operator. CNC machines are used to manufacture components for multiple industries, including: Medical, Aerospace, Automotive, Defense, Oil and gas, electronics. CNC operators are enjoying a strong job market with full-time and part-time employment opportunities. Since high-volume manufacturers typically run their machining centers 24/7, varied working hours are available. Salaries range from $15-$22 per hour.
