Being that CPCT/A is an advanced Nursing Assistant, students are required to obtain their CNA certification, Medication Technician, Basic Phlebotomy, and EKG Technician Certificate to excel in this program. Students will learn the basics of being a Patient Care Technician and are prepared to take the Patient Care Technician/ Assistant (CPCT/A) exam provided by the National Healthcareer Association taken at the facility. The topics included in the program of study is patient care, safety, professional responsibilities, infection control, phlebotomy, and EKG monitoring. A student must be 18 years of age prior to enrollment and have a high school diploma or a transcript corresponding prior to graduation.

Partnership with a skilled nursing facility (White Oak Manor & Pruitt Health) for nursing assistant students to complete the required clinical. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic and SC DHHS consent, students complete 40-hour required clinical training onsite at NLHIC. Partnership with adult education for level 3 and 4 students who are interested in healthcare as a continuing career pathway. Additional partnerships include Carolina Community Actions, Inc., which pays 100% tuition per class for qualified candidates based on available grant funding.
