Heavy Equipment Operator Training
Heavy Equipment Operator Training – up to 10 students Notes: All classroom training will take place as a single course section of up to 10 students. Hands-on training will be held as two sections of up to 5 students each held consecutively. All classroom and hands-on training will be held at the contracting company’s training site or sites in the Charleston area. All books, training materials and equipment will be provided by Tri-County Technical College. All training sites, restroom facilities (including portable toilet if needed), and diesel fuel for the equipment at the training site will be provided by the contracting company. In addition, the contracting company must provide a drug screen no more than 30 days old at the start of hands-on training for each student. Objective(s): This course will provide training in heavy equipment operation that meets NCCER standards. Participants will receive basic training on a range of equipment in addition to in-depth training on utility tractors, backhoes and wheel loaders. Upon completion, participants will be eligible to have documentation of their training placed in NCCER’s National Registry to ensure that their qualifications will be recognized wherever they go.
