Program description:

This course provides an overview of the basic cardiovascular terminology, anatomy, and physiology. The course focuses on the proper placement of electrocardiogram(EKG) lead and maintenance of equipment to obtain an accurate 12-lead EKG. Students learn to recognize cardiac arrhythmias. The course also outlines responsibilities of ECG/EKG technicians and provides clinical laboratory opportunity to develop entry level skills. After successful completion of the course the student will receive a certificate of completion. The course prepares the student for the National Health Career Association.
