Phlebotomy Technician
The Phlebotomy Technician Program introduces basic laboratory skills to collect and process high quality blood specimens for clinical laboratory analysis. Includes laboratory safety measures, professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills in a healthcare setting. To support a belief in the innate dignity of the human person and a desire to further the growth potential of the student within the atmosphere of a small institution. The Phlebotomy Technician Program at Village Career Center prepares the graduate to assume there responsibilities and duties of a Phlebotomy Technician at an entry level. The Phlebotomy Technician is a member of the health care team who works directly with the patient, the physician and under the supervision of the physician in the clinic setting, performing a variety of clinical duties. Village Career Center believes that students should assume personal responsibility for learning, while the faculty provides an environment which will facilitate learning. Upon completion of the academic requirements in the three learning domains (cognitive, psychomotor, and affective) the graduate of the Phlebotomy Technician will have completed the program objectives and terminal competencies.
