PTC is a postsecondary education program that help students enter into the workforce in the field of healthcare.
Central Sterile Processing
As the demand for central sterile processing and distribution grows, PTC will offer basic concepts of fundamental practices and procedures of aseptic techniques. CSPDT concepts will range from anatomy, physiology, microbiology, microorganisms, and HIPPA privacy rules. Students will be taught how collection and preparation of the equipment is done and the techniques to safely handle contaminated equipment. Students will also learn all the medical tools that are involved with CSPDT as well as learn medical terminology, communication skills, lab safety procedures and experience time in an onsite clinical setting allowing them to have hands-on training under direct supervision. Upon meeting all requirements for graduation, students must maintain a 85% average to pass the class. Then they will receive a Certificate of Completion. A certificate of completion will not be granted unless fees are paid in its entirety. Each student will be able to apply for national testing provided by Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). The Certificate of Completion will include the name of student and that the student has successfully completed the specific training program along with the completion hours.
Our CSPDT program consists of 400 hours of hands-on experience in a CS department and lab simulation.
