Certified Nursing Assistant Hybrid (WD)
This class will be held at the HGTC Grand Strand campus. A High School Diploma, GED or completion of 2 parts of GED are required. The Certified Nursing Assistant course prepares you for a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This intense six-week course includes in-classroom instruction, skills practice, an online lecture component, and clinicals in a patient-care setting. You will be required to complete the following to attend clinicals: 1. 2-Step PPD Test or QFT Gold Blood Assay, 2. Background Check (included in the cost), 3. Drug Screen (included in the cost), 4. Physical, 5. Flu Shot (optional) To successfully pass the course the following components must be completed: 1.40 hours of classroom instruction, 20 hours of skills practice, and 40 hours of clinical rotation in a nursing home. 2.FACET Healthcare Training (include in the cost). You will receive an email with your FACET login credentials as well as a Student Expectation Form, a Course Pacing Guide, and a Skills Practice/Clinical hours schedule. PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to attend in-person classes for the first four weeks of class (Tuesday-Thursday from 9am-2pm) and five 8-hour clinical shifts that will vary throughout the remainder of the six weeks. While attending these sessions, you must be engaged in skills learning as either a provider, a patient, coach, or evaluator. Clinical sites will be in various locations throughout Horry and Georgetown counties. REQUIRED SUPPLIES NOT INCLUDED IN SCHOLARSHIP: Cobalt blue scrubs (sold at HGTC bookstores or any scrub retailer). Optional Purchases: Watch with a second hand and Stethoscope.
