Advanced Emergency Medical Technician - CE
This program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the advanced knowledge, skills, and clinical judgment required to provide comprehensive prehospital emergency medical care, building upon the foundation laid by emergency medical technician training. This program delves into more advanced concepts, procedures, and decision-making processes, empowering participants to deliver high-quality emergency medical services. This intensive program spans 438.5 hours of didactic instruction, hands-on practical training, and clinical experience. The curriculum is carefully crafted to ensure a thorough understanding of advanced medical techniques and the ability to apply them in real-world emergency situations. Students enrolled in the advanced EMT curriculum can complete the program in approximately five months of training beyond emergency medical technician. Successful completion of the AEMT program enables participants to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Advanced Emergency Medical Technician certification examination.
To be eligible for this program, student must possess a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification and scored of >250 in Reading and Arithmetic on the Accuplacer. If you are not currently an EMT, MTC offers an Emergency Medical Technician training certificate.
